Fit & Size Guide

A useful size choice starts with measurements, not the label in your favorite dress. Our styles use individual charts, so check the product page every time.

1. Take three body measurements

  • Bust: measure around the fullest part, keeping the tape level across your back. Wear the undergarments you expect to use with the dress.
  • Waist: measure at your natural waist, where your body bends. Keep the tape comfortable rather than pulling it tight.
  • Hips: measure around the fullest point of your hips and seat, with your feet together.

Use a flexible tape and record the figures in inches. If you have centimeters, divide by 2.54 to convert to inches. A second person can help keep the tape level.

2. Compare with this dress’s chart

Product charts show the measurements available for that style. Do not assume S, M or a numeric label has the same meaning from one design to another. Where a range is listed, compare with that full range. Measurements are approximate, and manual measurement can vary by about 0.4–1.2 in.

If your figures fall between sizes, look at the area where the dress is closest fitting. A fitted bodice needs careful attention at the bust and waist; a close skirt needs room through the hips. Do not rely on stretch unless it is specifically described. Contact us if you need help interpreting a chart.

3. Check the length

Compare the listed length with a similar dress you already own. Lay it flat without stretching and measure from the comparable upper point to the hem. If a chart specifies hollow-to-hem, measure from the hollow at the base of the neck. Your height, proportions and shoes all affect where the hem will fall.

Choose a silhouette for the evening

A full skirt gives a different outline from a close sheath. A midi can make shoes part of the look; a long gown brings a continuous line. For a seated dinner, think about waist comfort and sleeve movement as well as how the dress looks standing.

Neckline and finishing layers

Consider your preferred coverage and undergarments before choosing a strapless, off-shoulder or open-back design. A shawl can add shoulder coverage for a ceremony or cooler room. Check the wrap’s dimensions so the amount of drape suits your plan.
